Pay: $110,000 – $150,00 depending on experience
Work Location
- This position allows attorneys to work remotely as well as at our offices in Costa Mesa, Palm Springs, and Indian Wells.
Qualifications:
- Admission to the California State Bar.
- Minimum 5 years of Labor & Employment litigation experience, with a strong background in wage and hour class action and PAGA matters
- Excellent verbal, writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Litigation experience
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of employment litigation matters, including being responsible for drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, including taking and defending depositions, preparing cases for mediation and preparing cases for trial

Estate Planning Attorney
Slovak Baron Empey Murphy & Pinkney LLP (SBEMP) is seeking an attorney with expertise in high-net-worth estate planning to join its Indian Wells, California office.
The ideal candidate for this position will need to demonstrate a successful track record of six to fifteen years of estate planning experience providing a broad range of services to clients with sophisticated estate planning needs. The candidate should be able to competently draft revocable and irrevocable trusts with generation skipping transfer tax provisions, have significant knowledge and understanding of ILITs, CRTs and FLPs and a substantial understanding of Federal tax laws. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on complex estate planning and tax matters for high-net-worth individuals and their entities with an extremely successful senior-level attorney with a client base of business owners, retirees, farmers, cattle ranchers and physicians.
The right candidate will have the opportunity to help with the continual development and growth of the practice by developing new projects from existing clients and leveraging referrals from existing clients and their advisors. The goal is to manage and grow the existing practice over a reasonable time frame as the senior partner transitions to retirement.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience with the following:
- Estate planning for high-net-worth individuals
- Probate and trust administration
- Business succession planning
- Formation of business entities
- Excellent understanding of Federal estate tax laws
- Reasonable understanding of Federal and California individual income and entity income tax law and California real property tax law
- Ability to work in tandem with the clients’ CPAs and other advisors
- LLM in tax preferred

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions, provide legal support to cities, special districts, joint powers authorities and water districts.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience with the following:
- Public Agency Law
- Advanced writing and research skills
- Land Use and Planning
- Attendance at public meetings
- Working with public agency staff and local elected officials
- Reviewing and drafting contracts
- Providing advice regarding the Brown Act, the Public Records Act, and conflicts of interest.
